How often have you asked yourself “What am I doing with my life? What is my purpose? What is my next step?”? If you are seeking an answer to these questions then perhaps this workshop is for you.

The Hero’s Journey is a course for people who would like to gain a greater understanding of themselves through a guided creative process, who wish to be empowered to change themselves and their lives. Our goal is to help you see things differently and to give you access to personal resources that can enrich your life, help to heal personal wounds, and enable you to approach change with strength and self-knowledge.

The Hero’s Journey is a rite of passage that takes place through role-playing, movement, ritual, music and discussion. It offers a supportive, non-judgmental group environment and a beautiful setting in which you can relax, contemplate and focus, away from the distractions of everyday life. It requires no particular skills or qualifications – only a willingness to participate and remain open to new ideas.

The Theme
A lot of suffering and confusion in our society is caused by the lack of significant rites of passage. Without shamans or ritual masters to guide them, modern women and men must find their own lonely and often traumatic paths from one stage of life to another – whether it be the adolescent’s awkward approach to puberty, a marriage, the ending of a marriage, or a change of career. Each such change requires a movement from one level of being to another. The Hero’s Journey enables you to enact a pattern of change, to set forth as on a journey in order to confront the challenges it brings. As new goals begin to emerge, resistance to those goals emerges as well. These two forces are “the Hero” and “the Demon”, and they must discover how to communicate with each other and how to work together.

The Setting
Waunifor, in the beautiful Welsh county of Ceredigion, is set in four acres of gardens. With their blend of lawns, woodlands, water and wild flowers, they are a haven for wildlife and a peaceful retreat with a wealth of hidden places to explore. The accommodation is in unique and comfortable cottages, with original features including wood-burners, open fires and beams. The spacious new studio features under-floor heating and plenty of natural light. Participants will have their own room in a cottage and all meals will be provided.

Credentials
The Hero’s Journey is a workshop created by PAUL REBILLOT, influential pioneer of the process of Direct Impact Creativity, which aims to facilitate creative acts or actions that have an immediate and transformative effect on the life process.

KAREN-ANN ROSCHILD has been training with Paul Rebillot for twelve years and assisting his workshops since 1999 in England, Ireland, Germany and Austria. Since Rebillot’s recent retirement she has become the leading authorised practitioner of his work. She has been an actress since 1978 and works as an acting teacher, trainer and director in Hamburg. She studied acting with teachers of the Lee Strasberg “Actor’s Studio”. She has trained in expressive mask dancing, costume, set design and anthropology

The course will be assisted by experienced Dramatherapists and trainees of Paul Rebillot. This will be the first time that Paul Rebillot’s work has been taught in Wales.
