A masterpiece of oppression, love and loathing by Spain's most famous poet and playwright

Obsessed with family honour, Bernarda Alba rules her household with an iron fist. Following the death of her second husband she announces to her five daughters that their period of mourning will last eight years. But under the oppressive heat of the Andalusian sun, passions reach boiling point and an explosion of desire, jealousy, hatred and despair threatens to bring down The House of Bernarda Alba.
